burn after reading, twilight, in bruges

What do the above movies have in common?

The scores were composed by Carter Burwell.  I found it fascinating while watching “Burn After Reading” when Chad jumps into Linda’s car after he’s punched in the face by Osbourne, and they take off after Osbourne’s car.  The drum beats layered over this scene are very, very reminiscent of the ones scattered throughout “Twilight”.

A couple of months later, I caught the end of “In Bruges” where a piece entitled “Shootout Part 1” had some guitars in it that also shared similarities with those found in a lot of the running/chasing scenes of the silly-but-entertaining “Twilight”.

Anyway, I enjoyed all three films enough, but I enjoy the scores much more.
