my sweet non-iPhone

Check out my phone call apparatus. Sure, I don’t have a web plan or anything fancy, but it does what it needs to do.
I’ve it for a few months now. It’s more thin than my previous Sony Ericsson T650i, and it has pretty themes, but:
- I miss the themes from the T650i. Holiday decorations were more prominent, like the snowflakes on Christmas, fireworks on New Years, hearts on Valentines, biggo lanterns on Chines New Year, etc. The T700 has similar decorations, but with the included themes, they’re hard to tell. Though I was able to copy my old themes over, the menus don’t match the theme like they did on the other phone, and the holiday decorations won’t work on the new one, only on the current phone’s themes.
- The screen brightness is not equal to the T650i. I used to be able to click any button in whatever light and read the time. Unless I press the side softkeys for volume, or undo keylock, I can’t read the time in bright sunlight.
- The vibration isn’t as noticable, so I often miss calls. Usually I think I’m receiving a call or message, but it’s my imagination….
- The camera lacks auto-focus. This isn’t a huge deal, but I really got used to the amazing photos that the T650i had. Friends and family hardly believed many of my photos were taken from a phone. The T700’s are nothing to brag about. (So I don’t.)
- Sometimes it lags. I’ve seen it reboot itself several times, but I’m waiting for a software update to fix it.
You’re probably wondering why I gave up the T650i in the first place, what with all the cons. The T700 is a quad-band phone, which uses AT&T’s 850 band. T650’s tri-band, so I had limited service where other AT&T customers had no problem. On our honeymoon, the hotel room had pretty much no signal unless the phone was laying flat on the corner of the desk, which made it hard to text and call people! I get much better reception with the T700.
Hey, as long as it makes calls and texts, I shouldn’t complain, huh?
