momentary bliss

Freshly-brewed Colombian roast in my coffee mug: there are plenty of simple things that brighten my day, and this is one of them. The scent of the beans after they have just been ground? Nothing too complicated about it, but it still makes me smile pretty much every time.

Uruguay vs. Germany soon! I am curled up into the corner of my sofa, anticipation rising. It makes me a little sad that tomorrow is the end of the Cup, but it has been an exciting month. I hope 2014 is just as incredible. How awesome would it be to make it to Brazil for a game or two? Crazy would be an understatement. Guess I had better apply for a passport!

This entry is almost a little too cheerful for my liking, but one of my class assignments is actually to take as many moments of happiness as possible, no matter how little or mundane they might seem, and to attempt to avoid the things that throw me into my downward spirals. So there I go.
