It really is kind of powerful and way too many people will come in and not ask for coffee, but demand it, then forget their coffee as they shuffle away miserably. And they forget one key thing, the decaf espresso button is right next to the regular. So dear world, be nice, we get up hours before you in order to give you your fix.
But, I mean, most people are really cool and it’s totally worth getting up at four in the morning when you have the regulars that come in. The lady that gets three iced lattes and will stand at the bar talking to you, genuinely interested. The man that comes in every few hours for another brewed coffee who knows everyone’s name. The girl that I see once in a while who will always pause and discuss the latest books we’re reading and it almost feels like catching up with someone from high school because that’s just how chatting with regulars feels. They bring you gifts at holidays, meaning the break room is usually full of expensive chocolate so we’ve got a sugar high on top of our natural caffeine rush. There are so many stories that come with working in a coffee shop that I wouldn’t even know where to start.
:D
